Masai Ndama Pre & School-Distict Mvomero

Masai Ndama is a Hamlet at Msongozi Village. The Hamlet is dominantly inhabited by pastoral communities and it is situated 9 km from Msongozi Primary School. Just like Mtipule Njia Panda, the area is regularly invaded by elephants that threaten the life of people in the village. This used to pose a serious challenge to young children in walking to school. To resolve this problem TUWALINDE WATOTO Project has constructed two ECD Classrooms, 4 Toilets and a Deep Boreholes at Masai Ndama .Thirty eight (38) children (12 Males and 26 Females) have been enrolled at the ECD Center. .

Mtipule Njiapanda Pre & Primary School-Distict Mvomero

(a) The first barrier was the long walking distance (10 Km) from Mtipule Njia Panda to Mtipule Primary School

(b) The second barrier was the threat of wild animals' i.e. elephants and others which threatened lives of the children when walking to school. It was very sad because two children were reported to have lost their lives due to elephant attack.

In responding to the above challenges, TUWALINDE WATOTO project has constructed two ECD Classrooms, Toilets and a Deep Borehole at Mtipule Njia Panda for the purpose of reducing walking distance and the threat of the wild Animals to young children. Lusanga Hamlet is situated 11 km from Msongozi Primary school. Almost all young children at Lusanga could not be enrolled in school because it was difficult for them to walk all the way to Msongozi Primary school.

Msongozi Pre & Primary School-Distict Mvomero

Buildings at Msongozi Primary school were built many years by missionaries. Apart from the buildings being very old, the school had a shortage of nine classrooms including a pre-primary classroom. Through TUWALINDE WATOTO project, nine classrooms, two staff quarters, eight toilets and one Borehole have been built at the school. In addition to this 140 desks have been supplied. This is almost building a new school. The view of the school has completely changed, children are seen happy and teachers are enjoying staying in the new houses.
