Matale Pre & Primary School
Matale Primary school is situated 85 km from Mvomero District headquarters. During pre-assessment it was found that the school had a shortage of 4 primary and 1 pre-primary classrooms. The toilets were very old and teachers used to stay 45 km from the school, because of lack of teachers' houses. It was even worse because the school did not have any female teacher, the situation that was quite challenging to the girls at the school. TUWALINDE WATOTO Project has constructed four (4) primary classrooms, one (1) pre-primary classroom, eight toilets and four (4) teachers' houses. In addition 80 desks, 5 teachers' tables and chairs have been supplied. Provision of these facilities has impacted on increased enrollment, reduction of congestion in classrooms as well as providing favorable learning environment to the children. Two Female teachers have been allocated to the school and teachers are now able to attend classes in time.
