Hostel Construction at Doma girls' Hostel-Distict Mvomero

One of the areas that are concern during needs assessment was the risks that girls from Doma Secondary School were facing. Doma is a small town, situated across Morogoro- Iringa high way, a famous stopover for big trucks which travel to Zambia and Congo DRC. During the assessment, it was realized that girls at Doma Secondary school were exposed to high risk of early pregnancies and HIV/AIDS infections which result from interaction of the Truck Drivers and this was in relation to the unsafe rooms that the girls were renting which had neither the control of teachers nor parents.

At the designing stage of TUWALINDE WATOTO Project, it was proposed to build a girls? dormitory at Doma Secondary school which would support girls, especially those who come from remote villages and who were renting rooms at Doma town. Provision of the dormitory and 35 double decker beds has waived these girls from the risks as well as restoring their hopes of completing their education safely
